SALEM, Ore. -- The non-conference men's basketball game between Willamette University and Linfield University scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 1 has been canceled due to health and safety protocols. The game will not be made up.

Willamette and Linfield scheduled the game between Northwest Conference rivals earlier in the week after both teams had games canceled against the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point because the Pointers' flight to Oregon was canceled. UW-Stevens Point was originally slated to play at Willamette on Tuesday, Dec. 28 and at Linfield on Thursday, Dec. 30.

The Bearcats will return to action on Friday, Jan. 7 at the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. Game time for the NWC match-up is set for 8 p.m. (PST). Willamette will play at Pacific Lutheran University in another NWC game on Saturday, Jan. 8 starting at 6 p.m. in Tacoma.
