Golf Team Set to Compete at NWC Championship

SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's golf team will compete at the Northwest Conference Championship on Apr. 24-25. The men will compete at Heron Lakes Golf Course in Portland, Ore. Competition will take place on the Great Blue course. Tee times are set for 10 a.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. (PDT) Sunday.

Shane Adversalo (Honolulu, HI/University Laboratory School) enters the weekend coming off one of his best performances as a Bearcat at the NWC Spring Classic. The senior shot a 74 in the second round on The Links at Moses Pointe to join two other competitors tied at 152, good for 9th place.

Robbie Beard (Sr., Yankton, SD/Yankton HS) has competed well during the season for WU. Beard finished tied for 22nd at the NWC Spring Classic.

Whitworth University and Linfield College are the favorites entering the NWC Championship. Whitworth won the NWC Spring Classic and Linfield finished second at that event. The two schools hold a four point lead over the rest of the conference entering this weekend.

Shane Adversalo has recorded most of his rounds in the 70s this spring.
