Corban Wins Willamette Invitational with a Score of 293

Bearcats Finish in Third Place

BANKS, ORE. -- Corban University took first place in the team standings with a score of 293 at the Willamette Invitational in men's golf on Saturday, March 5. The meet was held at Quail Valley Golf Course.

Pacific University placed second at 301 and Willamette University was third at 363. George Fox University had three individual entries but did not field a complete team.

Joey Duwe of Corban won the individual championship. He carded a 3-under-par 69 for a four-stroke victory. Three golfers -- Max Bonk of Pacific, Chris Dudley of Corban and Joey Ziogas of Corban -- tied for second place at 73. Ben Wright from Pacific rounded out the top 5 with a 74.

Willamette's top finisher was Brendan Dineen (Jr., Portland, OR/Grant HS) in 15th place. Dineen carded a score of 85.
