SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University golfer Trent Jones (Fr., Kenmore, WA/Shorecrest HS) has been chosen as Northwest Conference Men's Golf Student-Athlete of the Week after winning the Pacific Fall Invitational in his first collegiate tournament this past weekend (Sept. 19-20).

Jones shot a 36-hole score of 3-under-par 139 by shooting a 68 in the first round and an even par 71 in the second round to win the tournament by three strokes. His 68 tied for the lowest round of the tournament and helped earn him medalist honors.

While winning the individual title, Jones contributed to Willamette winning the team championship at Quail Valley Golf Course by 10 strokes with a score of 572. The Bearcats beat out Whitworth, which placed second, as well as four other Northwest Conference foes.

Next up for Willamette is the Pacific Lutheran Invitational on Sept. 26-27 at The Home Course in Dupont, Washington.
