Kibbee Named All-Region for Third Consecutive Season

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University men's golfer Andrew Kibbee (Grad., Kenmore, WA/Bothell HS) has been selected to the NCAA Division III PING All-Region 7 Team for 2022-23 by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). A total of 18 golfers from the West Coast and Texas were selected for All-Region 7 honors.

Kibbee was one of four golfers from the Northwest Conference who were named to the All-Region 7 Team. In addition to Kibbee, Sam Pauly and Jacob Rawley were chosen from Whitworth University, and Alexander Knox was selected from Whitman College. This year, the GCAA and PING honored a total of 117 golfers on seven All-Region teams nationwide.

Willamette earned its fourth consecutive Northwest Conference Championship in 2022-23. The Bearcats captured the NWC title by placing second at the NWC Fall Classic, third at the NWC Spring Classic, and first at the NWC Tournament in the three events used to determine the overall standings. The Bearcats received the NWC's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship and placed 18th at the 72-hole national tournament in Nicholasville, Ky. During the season, Willamette won team titles at Linfield's Wildcat Invitational, the Whitman Confluence Classic, the Willamette Valley Cup, and the NWC Tournament.

In addition, he was chosen First Team All-NWC for the third consecutive season (2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23) after receiving Second Team All-NWC recognition in 2018-19. No All-NWC team was chosen in 2019-20 due to COVID-19.

At the 2023 NCAA Championship, Kibbee tied for 28th place out of 221 golfers with a score of 5-over par 293. He shot 71-73-78-71. His two 71s were 1-under par and his 73 was 1-over par. It was Kibbee's fourth trip to the NCAA Tournament and his second at the Keene Trace Golf Club in Kentucky, which also hosted the 2018-19 event. He finished 88th in 2018-19 and tied for 15th in 2020-21.

This year, Kibbee placed in the top five at four tournaments and was in the top 15 a total of seven times. He was second at the Whitman Confluence Classic, and took second in a playoff for first place at the Willamette Valley Cup. He was fourth at the NWC Tournament.

Kibbee entered the 2023 NCAA Championship with a career scoring average of 1-over par 73. He won individual titles at three tournaments during his career and played on four NWC Championship teams.
