Jacobson Named NWC Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week

Scores Two Goals in 3-0 Victory at Pacific

SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University freshman midfielder Austin Jacobson (Salem, OR/South Salem HS) has been named Northwest Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the week ending on Sunday, Oct. 14.

Jacobson scored two goals in Willamette's 3-0 win at Pacific on Sunday, as the Bearcats finished the weekend with a 2-0 record. He scored the first goal at 39:27 and added the third goal at 82:35. he took five total shots against the Boxers, with his two shots on goal finding the net.

Against George Fox University in a 2-0 win on Saturday, Oct. 13, Jacobson took three shots, including one shot on goal.

For the season, Jacobson has contributed four goals and one assist for the Bearcats, giving him nine total points. He is second on the team in goals and is tied for third in overall scoring.

Willamette will play at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Wash., on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 2:30 p.m. (PDT). The Bearcats will conclude the weekend road trip on Sunday, Oct. 21 at the University of Puget Sound. Kickoff in Tacoma is set for 2:30 p.m. (PDT).
