Jensen Named Third Team All-West Region by NSCAA

Senior Midfielder Sets Willamette Record for Career Assists

SALEM, ORE. -- Trevor Jensen (Sr., MF, Chula Vista, Calif./Bonita Vista HS) has been chosen Third Team All-West Region for NCAA Division III as selected by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA). A total of 35 players received All-West Region honors on the First Team (11), Second Team (11) or Third Team (13).

Jensen was one of 11 midfielders chosen for All-West Region recognition. A total of four midfielders were selected from the Northwest Conference.

Third Team All-West Region

Trevor JensenTrevor Jensen (Sr., MF) was chosen First Team All-NWC this past season. He previously earned Second Team All-NWC honors in 2012.

During the 2013 season, Jensen topped Willamette's offensive chart in all three scoring categories, as he finished the year with 10 goals and seven assists for 27 total points. He scored on four of five penalty kick attempts, took 66 of 106 corner kicks for the Bearcats, and registered three game-winning goals.

In 2012, he tied a Bearcat season record with eight assists, equaling the mark set by Kent Jensen in 1983 and by Casey Fries in 1990.

He recorded a hat trick twice during his career, with both 3-goal performances occurring in 3-2 road wins over Linfield College. He scored all three goals in a 3-2 win against Linfield on Oct. 6, 2012 and registered another three goals in a 3-2 overtime victory over the Wildcats in his final college game on Nov. 9, 2013. The winning goal this fall was scored with 21 seconds left in the second overtime.

Jensen played in 73 out of a possible 74 games during his career, including 69 starts. He scored a total of 17 goals and set a Willamette career record with 18 assists. The previous record was 16 assists, set by Jeff Johnson from 1982-83 and by Dirk Hmura from 1988-91.

In addition, Jensen finished his career with 138 total shots, 62 shots on goal, five game-winning goals and 171 corner kicks. He was 5 of 6 on penalty kicks.

The 2013 Season

Willamette concluded the 2013 season with a 10-6-3 overall record. It was the Bearcats' top winning percentage (.605) since going 13-6-2 in 1991 (.667).

The Bearcats have achieved a combined record of 20-13-5 over the past two years, including 10-7-2 in 2012, for Willamette's first back-to-back winning seasons since 1993-94. WU went 7-5-2 in the NWC (4th place) in 2012 and finished 6-5-3 in the NWC (5th place) in 2013.

Head Coach Lloyd Fobi completed his third season with the Bearcats this fall. He career record at Willamette is 26-22-7 (.536).
