Men's Tennis Suffers Setback in Northwest Conference Opener

SALEM, Ore. – The Willamette University men's tennis team dropped its Northwest Conference opener to visiting Pacific University on Sunday, March 6. The Boxers claimed all nine matches to improve to 2-3 overall and 2-0 in the NWC while Willamette slipped to 0-3 and 0-1 in the conference.

First-year Andre Lief (Anchorage, AK/West Anchorage HS) battled to take three games in the opening set of the third singles flight against Nick Koulisis. Trey Allen (Fy., Tucson, AZ/BASIS Tucson North HS) claimed three games in his fourth flight match with Koby Murata while Quentin Nigbur (Jr., Newberg, OR/Newberg HS) and Andrew Kropp (Jr., Bend, OR/Summit HS) each claimed two games in setbacks in the top two flights.

The Bearcats are scheduled to travel to George Fox University on Sunday, March 13. The match is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. (PST).
