  • Willamette Competes at Final Day of NWC Championships

    GRESHAM, ORE. -- Freshman swimmer Erin Parkinson (Everson, WA/Ferndale HS) placed ninth in the women's 1,650-yard freestyle at the NWC Championships on Sunday, Feb. 27 on the final day of the three-day event. Despite competing in the distance event, Parkinson also placed 16th in the 200-yard breaststroke on Sunday.

    GRESHAM, ORE. -- Lauren Ballinger (So., Wenatchee, WA/Wenatchee HS) of Willamette University took seventh place in the championship final of the 200-yard freestyle at the NWC Championships on Saturday, Feb. 26. Ballinger's time in the finals was 1:59.58.

    GRESHAM, ORE. -- On the first day of the Northwest Conference swimming championships, Lauren Ballinger (So., Wenatchee, WA/Wenatchee HS) of Willamette was 13th in the preliminaries of the 50-yard freestyle. She placed eighth in the consolation finals of the 50 freestyle in 26.00 seconds to take 16th overall.
  • Linfield Downs Bearcats in Men's and Women's Swimming

    McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Linfield College defeated Willamette University in Northwest Conference men's and women's swimming on Friday, Feb. 4 on the Linfield campus. The Wildcats won the women's competition, 132-63, and also took the win in the men's events, 123-32.
  • Lewis & Clark Defeats Willamette in Swimming

    SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University hosted Lewis & Clark College in a Northwest Conference men's and women's swimming meet on Saturday, Jan. 29 at the WU Natatorium. Lewis & Clark won the women's match-up, 154-42. The Pioneers also won the men's competition, 135-42, over the Bearcats.
  • Pacific Swimmers Outscore Bearcats in NWC Action

    FOREST GROVE, ORE. -- The Pacific University swimming teams defeated Willamette University in a Northwest Conference dual meet on Friday, Jan. 28 at the Forest Grove Aquatic Center. Pacific's women downed the Bearcats, 124-50, while the Boxers won the men's competition, 110-36. The Boxers prevailed in eight women's events and also won eight men's events.
  • Whitman Downs Bearcats in NWC Swimming

    WALLA WALLA, WASH. -- Whitman College defeated Willamette University in men's and women's swimming on Saturday, Jan. 15 in Walla Walla, Wash. The Missionaries won the women's competition, 119-50, and were victorious in the men's competition, 107-47.

    SPOKANE, WASH. -- Whitworth University defeated Willamette University in men's and women's swimming on Friday, Jan. 14. The Pirates downed the Bearcats, 165.5-28.5 in the women's competition. Whitworth claimed a 167-17 victory over the Willamette men's team.

Competition began on Friday, Dec. 3. There were seven NCAA schools competing at the Invitational and 20 USA Swimming Club teams. Northwest Conference opponents Lewis & Clark College, the University of Puget Sound, Whitman College and Whitworth University all competed at the Invite.

    SALEM, ORE. -- The University of Puget Sound swimming teams defeated Willamette University in Northwest Conference action on Friday, Nov. 12. Puget Sound's women downed the Bearcats, 151-41. The Logger's men team was victorious over Willamette by a final score of 130-26.

    SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University swimming teams hosted the Northwest Conference Sprint Pentathlon on Friday, Oct. 29 to start the 2010-11 season. Whitworth claimed the men's team title with 262 points. The Pirates also won the women's team title with a score of 212.5.
  • Alumni Swim Meet and Tailgate Event Set

    SALEM, ORE. -- Head Swimming Coach Leslie Shevlin and the Willamette University swim team will host an Alumni Swim Meet and Tailgate event on Saturday, Oct. 16. The event will be held in conjunction with an intrasquad meet for current Willamette swimmers.
