Top Track Athletes to Compete at Oregon Twilight

Bearcats to Face Quality Competition at Hayward Field

EUGENE, ORE. -- As the NCAA Division III National Championships draw near, some of Willamette University's top track and field athletes will compete at the Oregon Twilight, at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore., on Friday, May 9.

The meet, hosted by the University of Oregon, is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. (PDT).

The Bearcats will have four representatives in the women's events, led by a pair of first-place finishers from the Northwest Conference championships: Taylor Ostrander (So., Soldotna, AK/Kenai Central HS) in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and Bekah Daniel (Jr., Silverdale, WA/Central Kitsap HS) in the triple jump.

Hannah Bressler (So., Oak Harbor, WA/Oak Harbor HS) will also compete in the steeplechase after placing second to Ostrander in the steeplechase at the NWC championships, while Taylor Ottomano (Sr., Poulsbo, WA/North Kitsap HS) will look to build on her third-place finish in the high jump.

Willamette will have two individual entries on the men's side, highlighted by Jordan Loos (Jr., Springfield, OR/Thurston HS), who will compete in the javelin throw. Loos won the javelin throw at the NWC championships, achieving a school record toss of 214' 7" in the process.

Kit Kingstad (Sr., Beaverton, OR/Beaverton HS) will participate in the 1,500-meter run after placing eighth at the NWC meet.

Willamette's two-time defending NWC champion 4 x 100-meter relay team of Matt Paparella (So., Glendale, AZ/Ironwood HS), Chris Luetjen (Sr., Lake Oswego, OR/Lake Oswego HS), Tom Fiechtner (Sr., Poway, CA/Cathedral HS) and Dylan Jones (So., Santa Maria, CA/Ernest Righetti HS) will compete against squads from the University of Oregon, Oregon State University, and the UO Running Club.

The Oregon Twilight will be broadcast live on the Pac-12 Networks beginning at 7:30 p.m. All events prior to the TW window will be streamed on the Oregon athletics website.Live Results will be posted once the meet starts.
