Beckmann to Compete in Heptathlon at UW Indoor Invitational on Jan. 31, Feb. 1

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University track and field student-athlete Keaton Beckmann (Jr., Salem, OR/Sprague HS) will compete in the heptathlon at the UW Indoor Invitational on Friday, Jan. 31 and Saturday, Feb. 1 at the Dempsey Indoor facility on the campus of the University of Washington. The first four events in the indoor heptathlon will be held on Friday with the final three events on Saturday.

The schedule for all 15 competitors in the indoor heptathlon will begin with the 60-meter dash at 1 p.m. (PST). The long jump will follow at approximately 1:45 p.m., with the shot put set for 3:05 p.m. and the high jump listed at 4:15 p.m. Starting times may vary depending on how long it takes to complete each event. Saturday's schedule for the indoor heptathlon begins with the 60-meter hurdles at 10 a.m., followed by the pole vault at about 11:15 a.m., and the 1,000-meter run set for 3:05 p.m.

In 2019, Beckmann qualified for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the decathlon. The NCAA Championships were held in Geneva, Ohio, where Beckmann placed 11th overall with a personal record score of 6,519 points. His score placed him seventh on Willamette's all-time list.
