Beckmann Wins 200-Meter Dash, Long Jump, and High Jump in Meet with Corban

SALEM, Ore. -- Keaton Beckmann (Sr., Salem, OR/Sprague HS) of Willamette University won three events for the Bearcats during the Willamette vs. Corban Dual on Saturday, March 20. Most events were held at Charles Bowles Track, with the throwing events held on the Corban University campus.

Beckmann finished first out of seven runners in the men's 200-meter dash with a time of 22.47 seconds. He also won the long jump with a top distance of 22' 3.50". He competed unopposed in the high jump and registered a height of 5' 11.25".

Samantha Waters (So., Kalispell, MT/Flathead HS) earned first place in two events for the Willamette women's team. She led the way in the discus with a toss of 94' 7" and also finished at the top of the hammer with a top distance of 124' 3".

Other event winners for the Bearcats were Sami Riggs (So., La Verne, CA/Bonita HS), Audrey Piacsek (Jr., Ellensburg, WA/Ellensburg HS), Dana Hamilton (Jr., Eugene, OR/Sheldon HS), and Abigail House (Fy., Oakland, OR/Oakland HS) from the women's team and Ronan Davies (So., Juneau, AK/Juneau-Douglas HS), Gabriel Regimbal (So., Bellingham, WA/Squalicum HS), and Oliver Anderson (So., Salem, OR/Home Schooled) from the men's team.

Riggs won the 200-meter dash in 26.92 seconds. Piacsek prevailed in the 1,500-meter run in 5:13.62, while Hamilton won the 5,000 in 20:11.13. House took first place in the shot put at 33' 1.75".

Davies ran unopposed in the 1,500-meter run and recorded a time of 4:21.37. Regimbal placed first in the 5,000-meter run at 15:50.71. Teammate Alex Matteson (Jr., Seattle, WA/Nathan Hale HS) was second at 15:52.87. Anderson achieved the top distance in the triple jump with a combined result of 43' 0.50".

Willamette finished in front of Corban in team standings. The Bearcat men's team won by a score of 55-47. The WU women's team outscored the Warriors, 60-43.

Up next for the Bearcats will be a second Willamette vs. Corban Dual set for Friday, April 2 (throws) and Saturday, April 3 (remaining events). The throwing events will be held at Corban. All other events will be contested at Charles Bowles Track.
