SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University track and field student-athletes Keaton Beckmann (Sr., Salem, OR/Sprague HS), Katherine Thornton (Fy., Reno, NV/Reno HS), and Samantha Waters (So., Kalispell, MT/Flathead HS) have been chosen All-West Region for the 2021 season as announced by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). In order to receive All-West Region honors an athlete had to be ranked in the top five in the region of an individual event or compete on one of the top three teams in the region in a relay event.

Beckman was named All-West Region in the decathlon and four other events. Thornton registered All-West Region honors in the women's 400-meter hurdles. Waters was included on the All-West Region list in the women's hammer throw.

It was the third time that Beckmann was selected All-West Region in the decathlon and the second time he was named All-West Region in the long jump. It was the first time he was chosen All-West Region in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and 400-meter dash. He previously received All-West Region recognition in the long jump in 2019, and in the decathlon in 2018 and 2019. Thornton and Waters each received All-West Region honors for the first time this year. No All-Region teams were announced in 2020.
