Stepp Qualifies for NCAA Division III Indoor Championships in High Jump

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University's Whitley Stepp (So., Silverton, OR/Regis HS) is one of 20 athletes nationwide who have qualified to compete in the women's high jump at the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. The NCAA Indoor Championships will be held at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on March 8-9 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Stepp cleared a top height of 5' 6" on Saturday, Feb. 3 at the George Fox University Indoor Meet #1 to win the women's high jump. She also competed in the high jump at the Whitworth Indoor Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 10 and placed fourth at 5' 3.75". Stepp ended the indoor regular season tied with 10 other jumpers for the 13th best height in NCAA Division III this year. Eight of the 11 jumpers in the tie, including Stepp, were chosen for the NCAA Indoor Championships based on tie-breakers.

The women's high jump at the NCAA Championships is scheduled to begin at 12 p.m. EST / 9 a.m. PST on Saturday, March 9. The high jump will not include prelims, so all of the qualifiers in the women's high jump will be competing in the finals as the event gets underway.
