Women's Basketball to Play Eastern Washington

CHENEY, WASH. -- The Willamette University women's basketball team will take on Eastern Washington University on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 7:05 p.m. (PST) on the EWU campus. Eastern Washington competes in NCAA Division I and is 3-8 on the season. Willamette is a member of NCAA Division III and enters the game with a 1-7 record.

Each team is playing its final non-conference game before turning to conference play. EWU will open Big Sky Conference action on Jan. 8 against the Portland State University. Willamette, which is currently 0-2 in the Northwest Conference, will resume NWC action at Pacific University on Jan. 7. Game time in Forest Grove, Ore., is set for 6 p.m. (PST).

Eastern Washington will be providing a Live Video Webcast of the game between the Bearcats and the Eagles through the Big Sky Conference website. Coverage of the game is schedule to begin 10 minutes prior to tipoff. EWU also will provide Live Stats during the game.

Willamette's leading scorer is senior guard Alex Zennan (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake HS). Zennan is averaging 11.4 points per game. Kaileigh Westermann (Jr., F, Belfair, WA/South Kitsap HS) is averaging 9.3 points and a team-high 9.6 rebounds per game for the Bearcats.
