SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University built a 2-0 lead with a pair of quick goals, but Pacific University answered with two quick goals of its own, as the teams combined for four goals in 10 minutes during the second half, on their way to a 2-2 tie in two overtimes on Saturday, Nov. 3 at Sparks Field.

Willamette concluded the season at 5-13-2, including 3-11-2 in the Northwest Conference. Pacific moved to 8-7-4, with a 6-7-2 record in the NWC. The Boxers will finish their season at the University of Puget Sound on Sunday (Nov. 4) in Tacoma, Wash.

The Bearcats attained their 2-0 lead on goals by Alyssa Perreault (Fr., MF, Palo Alto, CA/Henry M. Gunn HS) at 50:50 and Sarah Desautels (So., F, Snohomish, WA/Glacier Peak HS) at 55:52.

Both goals were unassisted. Perreault took a one-touch shot off a ball that rebounded out of the Boxers' goalbox and cracked from 25-yards it to the far post past Pacific goalkeeper Kayla Davidson. Desautels' goal came from the same side of the field off of a 38-yard free kick, as she also hit her shot at the far post to increase Willamette's lead.

Desautels and Andi Rowan (Sr., MF, Boise, ID/Timberline HS) led the Bearcats with six shots apiece. Willamette totaled 25 shots with 11 on goal while the Boxers recorded 16 shots with nine of them on goal.

The scoring remained fast and furious when Pacific tied the game with goals by Sarah Tuffy on a penalty kick at 56:39 and Caitlin Castillo on a tap-in at 59:31 shortly after a corner kick.

Neither team scored during the rest of regulation play or the two 10-minute overtime periods. Both teams had sufficient chances to score, but were unable to convert.

Nicole Price (Jr., GK, Auburn, WA/Thomas Jefferson HS) of Willamette and Pacific's Davidson both played all 110 minutes in goal for their respective teams. Price recorded seven saves, while Davidson recorded nine.

Prior to the game starting, Willamette honored its four seniors with a special ceremony. Rowan, as well as Maddy Grainger (Sr., MF, Salt Lake City, UT/West HS) Shannon Scott (Sr., D, Bellevue, WA/Sammamish HS) and Ariel Wilson (Sr., MF, Fort Collins, CO/Poudre HS) were met by family members and had the accomplishments of their Bearcat careers announced to much applause.
