NEWBERG, Ore. -- Nina Krassner-Cybulski (Jr., F, Porter Ranch, CA/Agoura HS) registered a goal at 43:25 to give Willamette University the lead at halftime, but George Fox University rallied in the second half down the Bearcats 3-1 at the Austin Sports Complex on Sunday, Oct. 22. The Bruins upped their record to 5-7-4 overall, 3-6-3 in the Northwest Conference. Willamette fell to 2-10-4 on the season, including 2-7-3 in the NWC.

Each team took three shots in the first half, but Krassner-Cybulski's 6-yard header near the left post was the only attempt to result in a goal. Jaime Haysman Boaler (So., D, Stanford, CA/Notre Dame HS) provided the assist with a well-placed cross from the right side. It was Krassner-Cybulski's third goal of the season and the 12th goal in her Willamette career.

George Fox tied the score at 1-1 early in the second half at the 51:30 mark. The tying goal was scored by Hannah Beardemphl on an assist from Alison Weber. Beardemphl scored from four yards in the middle of the six-yard box following a short pass by Weber from the end line a few yards beyond the right post.

The Bruins moved in front at 62:46 on a goal by Weber from six yards out following a corner kick by Alexis Breer. Beardhemphl recorded GFU's insurance goal at 72:00 for a 3-1 lead. She scored from six yards on a rebound shot after her first attempt was saved by WU goalkeeper Sabella Pisicoli (Fy., GK, Hacienda Heights, CA/La Serna HS). Beardhemphl led all players with five shots, including three shots on target.

For the match, George Fox earned a 12-4 advantage in total shots and a 7-1 edge in shots on target. Pisicoli supplied the Bearcats with three saves and one GFU shot was cleared away from the goal by a WU defender. The Bruins' goalkeeper, Emily Robey, finished with no saves.

GFU attained a 6-2 edge in corner kicks. The Bruins also committed more fouls, as they finished with 16 violations compared to eight on the Bearcats. Neither team received a yellow card.

Willamette will travel to Walla Walla, Washington, to take on NWC rival Whitman College on Saturday, Oct. 28. Kickoff is slated for 12 p.m. PDT.
