Six Bearcats are Named CSC Academic All-District in Women's Soccer

SALEM, Ore. -- Six members of the Willamette University women's soccer team have been named to the 2023 NCAA Division III Academic All-District Women's Soccer Team, as voted by the College Sports Communicators (CSC). Players chosen Academic All-District were  Braeden Glaser (Sr., F, Battle Ground, WA/Prairie HS), Anette Hernandez Bran (Sr., F, Tigard, OR/Tigard HS), Ella Abraham (Jr., F, Lexington, KY/Lafayette HS), Reagan Doty (Jr., M, Riverton, UT/Riverton HS/Yakima Valley College), Jaime Haysman Boaler (Jr., D/M, Stanford, CA/Notre Dame HS), and Nina Krassner-Cybulski (Jr., F, Porter Ranch, CA/Agoura HS).

Glaser, Abraham, and Krassner-Cybulski were chosen Academic All-District for the second consecutive season.

A panel of CSC members will determine which Academic All-District honorees are eligible to be voted onto the NCAA Division III Academic All-America Women's Soccer Team. The Academic All-America Team will be released on Wednesday, Dec. 20. Players nominated for the CSC All-District Team were starters or key reserves with cumulative grade point averages of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale. They played in 90% of their team's games or started at least 66% of the games. Each nominated student-athlete was at least a sophomore in academic and athletic standing.

Willamette finished the season with a 2-13-5 overall record and went 2-10-4 in the NWC. The Bearcats battled through numerous injuries and went 2-5-3 in the final 10 games, including three one-goal losses. Willamette scored a total of 22 goals in 20 games. In NWC action, the team registered 20 goals in 16 games.

NCAA Division III Academic All-District

Headshot of Braeden Glaser Braeden Glaser (Sr., D) played in 19 games with 19 starts in both 2022 and 2023 for a solid 38 starts over the past two seasons. This year, she provided strong defensive play and helped move the ball through the midfield into the attack. She earned an assist on Willamette's first goal in a 3-2 win at the University of Puget Sound.

In four seasons with the Bearcats, Glaser saw action in 50 games with 38 starts, while contributing three goals and one assist. She took 24 shots and had 11 shots on goal. She owns a 3.80 cumulative grade point average and is majoring in Exercise and Health Science.

Headshot of Anette Hernandez Bran Anette Hernandez Bran (Sr., M/D) competed in 19 games this season and started all 19 of those games. She was a standout on defense who stopped many attacks, especially between the penalty area and the sideline. Her efforts allowed the Bearcats to build out of the back throughout the season.

She missed the 2022 season due to an injury, but Hernandez Bran played in 46 career games with 23 starts over her other three seasons, including 19 games played as a sophomore in 2021. She is majoring in Biology and has a 3.59 cumulative GPA.
 

Headshot of Ella Abraham Ella Abraham (Jr., F) was on the field for the Bearcats in 19 games this season, all starts. She scored three goals and two assists for eight total points, which ranked second on the team. She took 14 shots and placed eight shots on target. She was 1 for 1 on penalty kicks. In 2002, she played in 19 games with 12 starts and scored a career-high four goals.

In three years at WU, she has competed in 57 games and made 34 starts. Her career totals include nine goals and two assists for 20 points. She has provided 36 total shots and 23 shots on target. Abraham has earned a 3.71 cumulative GPA while majoring in Exercise and Health Science. She is minoring in Spanish.

Headshot of Reagan Doty Reagan Doty (Jr., M) joined the Bearcats this year and was named Honorable Mention All-NWC after transferring from Yakima Valley College. She provided outstanding efforts as a midfielder, while helping Willamette control the ball on defense and on offense. She also was a key player in moving the ball upfield.

Doty was successful at winning one-on-one battles to maintain possession or to steal the ball. She was consistent at providing quality play. In addition to her tremendous ability to impact the game by her defending and possession, she also supplied one assist and took nine shots. Prior to arriving at Willamette, Doty earned a 3.89 cumulative GPA. She is majoring in Mathematics at Willamette.

Headshot of Jaime Haysman Boaler Jaime Haysman Boaler (Jr., D/M) compete in 15 games in 2023, all starts for the Bearcats, and was chosen Honorable Mention All-NWC. She achieved four assists, while providing eight shots with four shots on goal. Her efforts helped the Bearcats advance the ball into the attack and to create scoring chances.

In three years at Willamette, Haysman Boaler has seen action in 45 games while marking 37 starts. Her career statistics include five assists, 21 total shots, and nine shots on goal. She is majoring in Humanities with minors in Women's and Gender Studies and American Ethnic Studies and has a 3.65 cumulative GPA.

Headshot of Nina Krassner-Cybulski Nina Krassner-Cybulski (Jr., F) provided the Bearcats with three goals and one assist for seven points this fall. She took 16 shots and put seven shots on target. She played in 20 games with five starts and was a valuable player on offense. In 2022, she was named Honorable Mention All-NWC, when she scored eight goals and one assist for 17 points in 18 games played.

During her career, Krassner-Cybulski has competed in 58 games with 27 starts. She has earned 12 goals and three assists for 27 points. Her totals include 56 shots, 35 shots on goal, and three game-winning goals. She owns a 3.79 cumulative GPA and is majoring in Sociology.
