The Wildcats upped their NWC record to 6-0 and also improved to 6-1 overall. Willamette, now 4-3 in the NWC, moved to 4-4 on the season.

Whitworth, the defending NWC champion, improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the conference. Willamette fell to 1-2, 1-1 in the NWC.

    SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's tennis team has received the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award for the 2009-10 season as a result of the Bearcats' efforts in the classroom. The award required a team cumulative grade point average of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale. A total of 79 women's tennis teams competing in NCAA Division III qualified for the award.

    WALLA WALLA, WASH. -- Natalia Agarycheva (Sr., Vancouver, WA/Univ. of Northern Colo.) of Willamette University defeated Abby Olbrich of Linfield College, 7-5, 6-4, in the singles final of the USTA/ITA Women's Tennis Small College Northwest Regional on Monday, Sept. 27 at Whitman College. Agarycheva reached the final round by defeating Alyssa Roberg of Whitman, 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in the semifinals earlier on Monday.
