Women's Tennis Match with Bellevue College is Canceled

By Robert McKinney, Athletics Communications Director, (503) 370-6110

SALEM, ORE. -- The women's tennis exhibition match between Willamette University and Bellevue College (Wash.) scheduled for Friday, March 14 has been canceled. The match will not be rescheduled.

Willamette competes in NCAA Division III and is a member of the Northwest Conference. Bellevue competes in the Northwest Athletics Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC). If Willamette and Bellevue had been able to play, it would have been an exhibition match because the NCAA does not count contests against community colleges or junior colleges.

With the cancellation, the Bearcats' next competition is set for Saturday, March 15 against Pacific University. Starting time for the NWC matchup is set for 1 p.m. (PDT). The Bearcats are 3-4 on the season, including 1-4 in the NWC. Pacific is 1-5 overall, 0-4 in the NWC.

Olina Cavedoni is a freshman on the Willamette women's tennis team this season.
