Mattox is Honored as NWC Student-Athlete of the Week

Wins Willamette Grass Course Title

SALEM, ORE. -- Kimber Mattox (Jr., Bend, OR/Bend HS/Cornell University) from Willamette University has been chosen the Northwest Conference Women's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week for her efforts at the Willamette Grass Course on Friday, Sept. 17. Mattox won the 5-kilometer women's race and contributed to Willamette taking the women's team title.

Mattox earned the individual championship in a field of 53 runners with a time of 19:03.41. Her margin of victory was 29.52 seconds over Mimi Seeley of Linfield College in second place. Mattox helped Willamette claim a 1-3-4-6-8 finish to rank first in the women's team standings with a score of 22.

Willamette will compete at the Linfield Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 25 at Willamette Mission State Park. The action is set to begin at 10 a.m. (PDT).

Kimber Mattox won the women's championship by 29.52 seconds at the Willamette Grass Course last Friday.
