Bearcats Compete at Lewis & Clark Invitational in Cross Country

ESTACADA, Ore. -- A group of Willamette University cross country runners competed at the Lewis & Clark Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 17at McIver Park. The Bearcats were represented by three runners in the women's 6-kilometer race and by two runners in the men's 8-kilometer race.

Maisie Blaufuss (Fr., Nashville, TN/Hume Fogg Academic HS) led the WU women's team by placing 37th out of 112 runners with a time of 24:23.2. Emily Evans (Fr., Anchorage, AK/South Anchorage HS) was 57th for the Bearcats at 25:01.3. Hazel Carr (Fr., Seattle, Wa/The Northwest School) registered a time of 25:18.6.

For the Bearcat men's team, Jack Kobylka (So., Napa, CA/Vintage HS) finished 46th out of 126 runners in 27:00.3. Robbie Melhorn of WU completed the course in 30:21.1.

With Willamette also participating at the AAE Invitational in Winneconne, Wisconsin, the Bearcats did not enter full teams at the L&C Invitational.
