SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University softball team, ranked #7 in NCAA Division III, will play the University of Puget Sound on Friday, March 27 in Tacoma, Wash., one day earlier than originally scheduled. In an effort to avoid a rainout on Saturday, the teams will play a doubleheader on Friday, with the first game set to start at 3:30 p.m. (PDT).

If one or both games need to be completed, the teams will finish the doubleheader on Saturday -- if the weather permits. Willamette is scheduled to play a doubleheader at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma on Sunday, starting at 12 p.m. (PDT).

Puget Sound will be providing a webcast of the games on Friday, starting at about 3:25 p.m. The webcast and a link to Live Stats will be available at http://www2.ups.edu/athletics/live/broadcast.htm shortly before the first game gets underway.

Both doubleheaders over the weekend will feature Northwest Conference games. Willamette enters the weekend with a 12-1 overall record, including 5-1 in the NWC. The Loggers of UPS are 8-11 overall, 2-4 in the NWC, while Pacific Lutheran is 6-14 overall, 6-4 in the conference.

Freshman shortstop Mica Romero has started all 13 games and is batting .385 so far this season.
