SALEM, Ore. -- The Willamette University softball doubleheader scheduled for Tuesday, Feb. 21 at home against Northwest Christian University has been canceled due to rain that accumulated over the weekend, plus the threat of additional rain on Monday and Tuesday. The doubleheader will not be rescheduled.

Willamette is currently 0-2 on the season after dropping two games to crosstown rival Corban University on Feb. 12. The Bearcats are scheduled to return to action on Saturday, Feb. 25 and Sunday, Feb. 26 against University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Washington. The teams are set to play two games each day.

The four-game series will open the Northwest Conference schedule for the Bearcats and the Loggers. Willamette will play its first NWC home games on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 against Linfield College at the WU Softball Field.
