Glasgo Selected as NWC Softball Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week

SALEM, Ore. -- Willamette University pitcher and outfielder Jocelyn Glasgo (Jr., P/OF, Rochester, WA/Tumwater HS) has be chosen as the Northwest Conference Softball Pitcher Student-Athlete of the Week for her contributions as the Bearcats swept a four-game series from University of Puget Sound. Willamette defeated the Loggers in both games of a doubleheader on Saturday, April 13, winning 3-1 and 5-3. The Bearcats added wins of 8-5 and 12-9 on Sunday, April 14.

Glasgo achieved a 2-0 record in the circle and earned one save. She won the first game of the weekend with a complete-game two-hitter with six strikeouts. In three appearances, she had a 3.23 earned run average. In addition, Glasgo batted .444 with six runs, two RBIs and a home run. She extended her impact on offense by going 5 for 5 on stolen bases.

This year, Glasgo has made 24 appearances in the circle and has pitched in 77 innings with 36 strikeouts. On offense, she has provided the Bearcats with a .325 batting average and a team-high 24 runs scored. She is tied for the team lead with four home runs. She is 19 of 22 on stolen base attempts. On defense, she has been credited with 19 putouts and 23 assists.

Willamette will close out the season with four games against George Fox University this weekend. On Friday, April 19, the Bearcats and the Bruins will play a doubleheader in Newberg, Oregon, starting at 12 p.m. (PDT). On Saturday, April 20, the action will move to the WU Softball Field for a doubleheader at 12 p.m.
