Grant Has Top 10 Finish in Weight Throw at George Fox Invite #2

NEWBERG, Ore. – The Willamette University women's track & field team returned to George Fox University for the Bruins' second indoor invitational of the season. The meet primarily consisted of sprints and field events.

First-year Lavender Bel (Puyallup, WA/Graham Kapowsin HS) placed seventh in the 60-meters with a time of 8.23. She finished seventh in the 60-meter hurdle event as well.

Tenley Grant (Jr., Longview, WA/Kelso HS) was seventh in the weight throw with a distance of 36' 5". Senior Kaiona Apio (Edmonds, WA/Edmonds-Woodway HS) had a toss of 35' 9.5" to claim eighth in the event.

The Bearcats next compete on March 2, hosting the Willamette Opener at the Charles Bowles Track. The first event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. PST.
