    FREDERICKSBURG, VA. -- Julia Browne of Tufts University (Mass.), the #3 seed in the NCAA Division III Singles Championship defeated Natalia Agarycheva (Jr., Vancouver, WA/Prairie HS/U. of Northern Colorado) in the first round, 6-1, 6-1, on Friday, May 28 at the Battleground Tennis Complex. Browne also won in the second round, as he downed Courtney Chin of Carnegie-Mellon University (Pa.), 6-4, 6-1, to advance to the quarterfinals.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Natalia Agarycheva (Jr., Vancouver, WA/Prairie HS/U. of Northern Colorado) from the Willamette University women's tennis team has been chosen by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association as the NCAA Division III West Region Player to Watch during the 2010-11 season, based on voting by the Region's head coaches. Agarycheva, who will compete in the first round of the NCAA Division III Singles Championship on Friday, May 28 in Fredericksburg, Va., is 20-3 in singles this spring.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University tennis player Natalia Agarycheva (Jr., Vancouver, WA/Prairie HS/U. of Northern Colorado) has been selected as one of 32 student-athletes who will compete in the singles bracket at the 2010 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championships. Agarycheva and the other participants will travel to Fredericksburg, Va., where the matches will be played at the Battleground Tennis Complex on May 28-30.

    OJAI, CALIF. -- Sheryl Bon of Azusa Pacific University, seeded #7, defeated Natalia Agarycheva (Jr., Vancouver, WA/Prairie HS/U. of Northern Colorado) of Willamette University in the Round of 16 in the Women's Independent Singles bracket at the Ojai Valley Tournament on Friday, April 23. Bon won the first set versus Agarycheva, 6-3, and took the second set, 6-2.

Agarycheva swept through her first match, but had to rally against #12 seed Ashley Litchfield of Point Loma Nazarene University in the second round.

The win at the Courthouse Tennis Club improved Willamette to 11-6 overall, 10-4 in the NWC, while L&C dropped to 9-11 overall, 9-5 in the NWC.
