Student-athletes received the award by combining academic and athletic success.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University junior Kit Kingstad (Beaverton, OR/Beaverton HS) registered a personal record time of 3:48.53 in the men's 1,500-meter run at the West Coast Invitational on Saturday, May 11 to improve from #31 to #2 on the NCAA Division III performance list. Michaela Freeby (So. Milwaukie, OR/Rex Putnam HS) of WU improved to #4 on the national list in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase with a personal record time of 10:37.91.

Kennedy moved into ninth on the NCAA Division III performance list.

    SALEM, ORE. -- The West Coast Invitational track and field meet is underway at Willamette University, featuring entries from Willamette and six teams from the NCAA Division I West Coast Conference. The meet began on Thursday, May 9 with the first day of the heptathlon and the decathlon, and will continue on Friday, May 10 with the remaining heptathlon and decathlon events. Saturday, May 11 will feature all of the field and running events.

The Bearcats currently have four athletes that own a qualifying mark high enough for the NCAA Championships, while there are seven other marks near the current cutoff.

    SALEM, ORE. -- A total of 18 members of the Willamette University track and field team earned All-Northwest Conference honors for their efforts during the 2013 NWC Track and Field Championships on April 28-29 at Charles Bowles Track, the home of the Bearcats. The All-Conference honorees achieved 34 total awards, as eight Willamette athletes obtained honors in multiple events.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University won five events, including two relays, on the final day of competition at the 2013 Northwest Conference Track and Field Championships at the Charles Bowles Track on Saturday, April 27. The Bearcats won the men's 4 x 100-meter relay in 42.06 seconds and took first place in the women's 4 x 400-meter relay in 4:00.39.

Freeby's winning time was 11:06.01.
