  • Lewis & Clark Downs Bearcats, 80-50, to Tie GFU for First Place

    SALEM, ORE. -- Lewis & Clark College grabbed 43 rebounds and connected on 25 of 32 free throws, as the Pioneers defeated Willamette University, 80-50 in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 19. The win allowed Lewis & Clark to match George Fox at the top of the NWC final regular season standings at 14-2.
  • First-Half Surge Helps Pacific Lutheran Defeat Bearcats, 76-59

    TACOMA, WASH. -- Pacific Lutheran University scored 16 consecutive points in the first half to take a 20-point lead, and the Lutes went on to defeat visiting Willamette University, 76-59, in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Friday, Feb. 18. The Lutes improved to 6-17 overall, 4-11 in the NWC, while WU fell to 3-19 overall, 2-13 in the NWC.
  • Puget Sound Survives against Bearcats, 69-63

    NEWBERG, ORE. -- George Fox University built an 18-point halftime lead and continued to pull away in the second half, as the Bruins defeated Willamette University, 87-46, on Tuesday, Jan. 25 at the Wheeler Sports Center. GFU improved to 13-5 overall, 7-2 in the Northwest Conference, one-half game behind conference leader Lewis & Clark College (7-1). Willamette dropped to 2-14, 1-8 in the NWC.
  • Willamette Shoots Down Lutes, 73-69

    SALEM, ORE. -- Alex Zennan (Sr., G, Sammamish, WA/Eastlake HS) of Willamette University scored 20 points and hit 5 of 10 three-pointers to lead the Bearcats to a 73-69 victory over Pacific Lutheran University on Saturday, Jan. 22 at Cone Field House. The Bearcats picked up their first Northwest Conference win of the season (1-7) while improving to 2-13 overall. PLU fell to 4-12, 2-6 in the NWC.

    PORTLAND, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's basketball team battled the Northwest Conference co-leaders from Lewis & Clark College throughout the first half, but  L&C extended a five-point halftime lead to 20 points in the first eight minutes of the second half, as the Pioneers defeated the Bearcats, 71-54, on Friday, Jan. 21 at the Pamplin Sports Center.

    SALEM, ORE -- Whitworth University sank 9 of 18 three-points shots and received a double-double from Taylor LaMoreaux, as the Pirates defeated Willamette University, 80-60, in Northwest Conference women's basketball action on Saturday, Jan. 15 at Cone Field House. Willamette's Alex Zennan (Sr., G, Sammamish, WA/Eastlake HS) scored her 1,000th point during the game.
  • Whitman Holds Off Willamette for 74-71 Win

    SALEM, ORE. -- Whitman College led by 11 points with 4:05 remaining, but the Missionaries had to hold off a rally by Willamette University before edging out the Bearcats, 74-71, on Friday, Jan. 14 at Cone Field House. Willamette missed sending the game into overtime when senior guard Alex Zennan (Sammamish, WA/Eastlake HS) failed on a 3-point shot with two seconds left.

    CHENEY, WASH. -- Eastern Washington University defeated Willamette University, 83-35, in women's basketball action on Thursday, Dec. 30 at Reese Court. EWU, which competes in NCAA Division I, improved to 4-8. Willamette, a member of NCAA Division III, fell to 1-8.

    SALEM, ORE. -- Hannah Munger scored 25 points and grabbed 19 rebounds to lead George Fox University to a 60-38 victory over the Willamette women's basketball team on Tuesday, Nov. 30. The game was the first Northwest Conference contest of the season for each team. George Fox improved to 5-2 overall and 1-0 in the NWC. Willamette is now 1-4 overall and 0-1 in the NWC.

Academy of Art improved to 1-3 on the season, while Corban fell to 1-4.

The Bearcats were defeated by the Ducks, 121-41. Willamette was led by senior Alex Zennan (G, Sammamish, WA/Eastlake HS), who scored a team-high 14 points.
