DeLong Chosen Honorable Mention All-NWC for Second Consecutive Year
February 25, 2015SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University women's basketball point guard Jojo DeLong (Sr., PG, Santa Clarita, CA/Canyon HS) has been named Honorable Mention All-Northwest Conference for the 2014-15 season in voting by the NWC head coaches. It is the second year in a row that DeLong has received Honorable Mention All-NWC recognition. -
Hamilton Scores 32 Points, as Bearcats Down Boxers in Overtime, 80-75
February 21, 2015SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University freshman Marisa Hamilton (So./Fr., C, Beaverton, OR/Southridge HS) scored a career-high 32 points as Willamette University defeated Pacific University, 80-75 in overtime, at Cone Field House on Saturday, Feb. 21. The game was tied 65-65 at the end of regulation. WU finished the season with a 7-18 overall record, including 2-14 in the NWC. Pacific ended the year at 9-16 overall, 5-11 in the NWC.

Wildcats Keep Bearcats From Clawing Back, as Linfield Wins, 52-46
February 20, 2015McMINNVILLE, ORE. -- Katie Kalugin (Sr., G, Woodburn, OR/Woodburn HS) registered a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Ashley Evans (Fr., PG, Canby, OR/Canby HS) scored a career-high 13 points, but it wasn't enough as Linfield College held off Willamette University, 52-46, in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Friday, Feb. 20.

Bearcats will Finish Season against Linfield and Pacific
February 18, 2015SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University women's basketball team will wrap up the 2014-15 season this weekend with two Northwest Conference match-ups when it takes on archrival Linfield College on Friday, Feb. 20 in McMinnville, Ore., and Pacific University on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Cone Field House. The game on Friday will begin at 6 p.m. (PST). On Saturday, it will be Senior Night with tipoff at 4 p.m.

February 10, 2015SALEM, ORE. -- Sarah Anderson scored 14 points and Kaitlin Mathewson added 10 points, as the Lewis & Clark College Pioneers defeated Willamette University in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 10. L&C improved to 8-14 overall, 5-8 in the NWC. Willamette dropped to 6-16 on the season, 1-12 in the NWC.

Puget Sound Rallies Past Bearcats, 65-49
February 07, 2015SALEM, ORE. -- Willamette University led #22-ranked University of Puget Sound at halftime, 28-21, but the Loggers rallied for a 65-49 win at Cone Field House on Saturday, Feb. 7. Puget Sound improved to 18-3 overall, 9-3 in the NWC, while the Bearcats moved to 6-15 overall, 1-11 in the NWC. Emily Sheldon led UPS with 18 points, while Katy Ainslie scored 16 points and hauled down nine boards. Amanda Forshay earned 13 points and 13 rebounds. The Loggers are ranked #22 in the D3hoops.com Top 25. Jojo DeLong (Sr., PG, Santa Clarita, CA/Canyon HS) topped Willamette with 15 points and six assists. She also grabbed six rebounds. Katie Kalugin (Sr., G, Woodburn, OR/Woodburn HS) recorded a double-double with 13 points and 15 rebounds. Kalugin moved into ninth place on WU's all-time rebounding list with 442 career boards.

George Fox Remains Undefeated at 20-0 with Win over Bearcats

January 31, 2015SPOKANE, WASH. -- Whitworth University, ranked #17 in the D3hoops.com Women's Top 25, earned a 67-51 victory over Willamette University on Saturday, Jan. 31 at the Whitworth Fieldhouse, as the Pirates improved to 18-1 on the season. Jessica Kramer led all scorers with 18 points for Whitworth, while teammate KC McConnell finished with 17 points.

January 30, 2015WALLA WALLA, WASH. -- Willamette University held a 37-31 lead at halftime, but Whitman College rallied in the second half to defeat the Bearcats, 71-60, in a Northwest Conference women's basketball game on Friday, Jan. 30. The Bearcats trailed by just two points with 5:45 left, before the Missionaries closed the game with a 16-7 run.

Lacey Nicholson clinched the win for the Lutes by hitting two free throws with 10 seconds left for the final points of the game.

The Missionaries improved to 7-3 overall and to 2-0 in the NWC. Willamette fell to 5-6 on the season, 0-2 in the NWC. The Missionaries built a 29-14 lead in the first half and extended their advantage to 40-18 in the first five minutes of the second half.

The game was played at McKinley High School.

December 19, 2014HONOLULU, HAWAII -- Jojo DeLong (Sr., PG, Santa Clarita, CA/Canyon HS) scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed eight rebounds, helping Willamette University down Wheaton College (Mass.), 65-57, in the Hoop N Surf Classic on Friday, Dec. 19. Willamette upped its record to 4-4, while Wheaton fell to 5-3.
