    PORTLAND, ORE. -- Willamette University concluded the Northwest Conference Men's Golf Championship in eighth place, as second round action ended at the Heron Lakes Golf Club on Sunday, April 25. Whitworth University, which shot back-to-back scores of 309, won the tournament title with an overall score of 618 for 36 holes.

    PORTLAND, ORE. -- Willamette University senior golfer Shane Adversalo (Honolulu, HI/University Laboratory School) is tied for 14th place after the opening round of the Northwest Conference Spring Championship at the Heron Lakes Golf Club in Portland, Ore., on Saturday, April 24. Adversalo carded an 80, good for an eight-way tie for 14th headed into the second day of play.
  • Golf Team Set to Compete at NWC Championship

    SALEM, ORE. -- The Willamette University men's golf team will compete at the Northwest Conference Championship on Apr. 24-25. The men will compete at Heron Lakes Golf Course in Portland, Ore. Competition will take place on the Great Blue course. Tee times are set for 10 a.m. Saturday and 9:00 a.m. (PDT) Sunday.

    MOSES LAKE, WASH. -- Willamette University senior golfer Shane Adversalo (Honolulu, HI/University Laboratory School) tied for the fifth lowest round of the second day at the Northwest Conference Spring Classic on Sunday, April 11, as he made a huge move from 18th place into a tie for ninth in the final standings. Adversalo shot a 74 in the second round on The Links at Moses Pointe to join two other competitors tied at 152 for the 36-hole event.

Willamette University is in eighth place. Teams will continue play on Sunday, April 11 in Moses Lake, Wash.

Robbie Beard (Sr., Yankton, SD/Yankton HS) of WU placed fourth on the individual leaderboard with a 4-over-par 76.

    BANKS, ORE. -- Willamette University opened the spring season for men's golf with a dual match against Northwest Conference rival Pacific University at Quail Valley Golf Club on Saturday, Feb. 20. Pacific won the meet with a team score of 302, while Willamette finished with a score of 335.

    PORTLAND, ORE. -- Willamette University finished in eighth place at the Northwest Conference Men's Fall Classic, held on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18 at the Heron Lakes Golf Course. During Sunday's second round, Willamette improved by 20 strokes from its score on the first day. The Bearcats finished at 331-311--642.

Willamette shot a team score of 331. The 36-hole tournament will continue on Sunday, Oct. 18 with the final 18 holes.

    BANKS, ORE. -- Shane Adversalo (Sr., Honolulu, HI/University Laboratory School) recorded his second consecutive round of 76 to finish in sixth place at the Pacific Invitational with a 36-hole score of 152, as the tournament concluded at the Quail Valley Golf Course on Sunday, Sept. 27. Justin Ahrens of Northwest Christian University won the individual title with an overall score of 142, after carding a 69 in the second round.

    BANKS, ORE. -- Willamette University senior Shane Adversalo (Honolulu, HI/University Laboratory School) concluded the first round of the Pacific Invitational in fourth place with a score of 76 on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Quail Valley Golf Course. Justin Ahrens from Northwest Christian University shot a 73 to hold first place with one round remaining. The final 18 holes will be played on Sunday, Sept. 27.

    NEWBERG, ORE. -- Led by senior golfer Shane Adversalo (Sr., Honolulu, HI/University Laboratory School), the Willamette University Bearcats placed third in the team standings at the George Fox Men's Invitational, which concluded on Sunday, Sept. 20 at the Chehalem Glenn Golf Course. Adversalo took fourth place individually, as he concluded the tournament with a score of 154 (79-75).
  • First Round of GFU Men's Invitational is Suspended by Darkness

    NEWBERG, ORE. -- The George Fox Men's Invitational was delayed at the start on Saturday, Sept. 19 due to heavy traffic on the course. Action did get underway, but the first round was not completed due to darkness. The round will resume on Sunday, Sept. 20 prior to the start of the previously-scheduled second round.
  • Willamette Hires Horstman as Men's and Women's Golf Coach

    SALEM, ORE. -- Noah Horstman, an assistant golf professional at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, has been hired as the head coach of men's and women's golf at Willamette University. Horstman replaces men's coach Steve Prothero and women's coach Tom Hibbard, who both retired this spring.
